First of all, I am very excited that you are creating a new brochure-it is very much needed!  One of the suggestions I have is using recycled paper and soy inks if possible (if it is cost effective) because I think when clients see that stated on the brochures/flyers they will like that we are a company concerned about keeping it "green".  Also, keeping the inventory in the brochure/flyer at what is actually available now not necessarily using books that "might" still be in the dealer's inventory but no longer available.  I think it would be great, too, to included the music downloads.

    Hi Dave

This sounds very exciting. What I would like to know however, is if we would be able to add the names of our businesses because not all of us are using Creat-A-Book. Mine for instance is Books n Music

I was going to ask that question. The brochures definately need to be updated. Flyers would be great too. Have you thought about doing a variety pack of brochures. For example, some in the pack can include various books we have, another could include baby books and have you thought about doing a brochure that includes both the baby books and the sibling book in one. It would be a great add on and increase business. Let me know what you think of those ideas.

    Hi Lebogang,

Great question. Since most dealers do not have software to edit Photoshop or Vector files, or the budget to hire illustrators to customize these files beyond the stock version, I was thinking the best option would be to leave an outline of an address label and let dealers place their information on labels (white or clear).

The current issue is there isn't a spot on the current brochures to place a label that flows with the design, so it's going to look odd. If the design was created to bring attention to that spot it could look great. The company information is not what's going to get a customer to stop and notice the brochure or flyer on a business counter, it's going to be a clever title and attractive illustrations. If they like what they see, they'll find the company information.

The other idea is to also create a version for dealers with either the software to edit, or budget to hire a designers, could modify the flyer directly and print their own. We're not trying to force people to purchase flyers from us, so we could give those files. We just want to give you tools that help you sell more books!

    Bonnie,

Another great question. In the past we had 5-10 different brochures for different marketing purposes. As dealers began making their own, and the demand for stock material decreased, we cut back. We could come out with more flyers and make the files available for print, we just don't want to stock up on too many pre-printed flyers if the demand isn't there.

By the way, I totally agree with the Sibling/Baby Book combo. I won't get ahead of myself but we're kicking around some cool ideas on that subject.

Dave, I like the idea of making files available to print of the flyers. My question would be would it be editable so i could put  my info on there and print out?

How about a two sided flyer one side for general book information, one side for music( not just cab music since we offer limited number of albums currently). I like the space for a business label info. Perhaps a space to put a label for custom products offered. I would like to see the art work more of photos of kids with books and singto the cd's

Dave, To answer your question YES! I do use the current flyers to print on.  I put my order forms on them for people who want to order later. I also have put order forms on tablets to use at our table. The tablets work great out side so the papers are not flying every where on a breezy day.

    Hey Sue,

If we have a version of the flyer you can modify, you'll be able to make those changes if you have someone that can work with the artwork file. I'm not sure if we'll leave one side blank of a brochure, as that's one of the things I personally don't like with the current brochures? Though again, if we have the files online for you to print, you could print one one side using our file and choose what you want for the backside.

Do you currently print your own material on the backside of the current brochures?

I do agree with using more images of people and the product. We're also going to have better pictures taken with a photographer soon.

    Hi Bonnie,

Sorry for not responding to your post. I think the plan is for us to post the PSD or Vector files so you could edit them, or have someone with the proper software edit them for you.

I have attached the flier that I made and use. Is it okay or too much? Most people enjoy it, but what do I know.
